  • When asked, "Which is closer to 3500; 2000 or 7000?," the child says, "70 is double 35, but 20 is only 15 away from 35, so 20 hundreds, 2000, is closer."

Help your student become a(n) Mental Number Line to 1000

Activities ask children to use their mental representation numbers up to 1000 or more to solve problems such as in the "I'm thinking of a number" game or placing a number on an empty number line labeled only with 0 and 1000 or 10,000.
