Other Examples:

  • In a line of a bear, cat, dog, and sheep, the child identifies the bear as the first in line but is unable to identify the dog as the third animal in line.

Help your student become a(n) First-Second Ordinal Counter

Activities ask children which in a sequence is first or second or to put things first or second in such a line. Making connections to counting words (being second means you are number 2 in line!) is also helpful.
